Video surveys: a safe way to get a removal quote

Here at Removals Unlimited, we’ve been offering video house surveys for a while, primarily to make it easier for people who don’t live in Dorset to get a free no obligation quote from us.

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed many things about the way we live and work in recent months. We’ve all had to adapt quickly to the ‘new normal’. Video house surveys are a great and safe way for us to continue to carry out free no-obligation house surveys during this period, and to provide you with a quote for your move within 24 hours of the survey.

We aren’t the only ones in the property sector who are turning to virtual tools to help us provide a full and safe service. Estate agents are now offering virtual viewings of properties and it’s a concept that a lot of people support.

Property Reporter recently shared the findings of a survey carried out by the Guild of Property Professionals, which found that around one in two people would be happy to view a property via a virtual viewing.

Among the advantages to virtual viewings that the people who were surveyed cited were that they can see more properties in a day and that they have greater flexibility over when they view a property. The research found that many people would use virtual viewings to narrow down their options, with many stating that they’d, understandably, want to visit a property in person before committing to buy or rent.

Of course, our property surveys are for the purposes of helping you move, so they’re a little different to a virtual viewing with an estate agent.

Our aim is always to make your move as stress-free as possible: we pack, move and store if that’s what you require. The great thing about a video survey is that you only need a smartphone and a little bit of time to show us around your home.

During your free, no-obligation home survey, we’ll ask you to walk us around your property. It’s important that we see in every room to get an accurate picture of how many belongings and what furniture you have. Volume of belongings needed to be managed allow us to raise an accurate quote.

Remember to tell us if there is some furniture that won’t be coming with you. If you’d like us to quote for our full packing service, make sure you show us inside your cupboards and wardrobes too.

There are certain parts of the home that it can be easy to overlook, so don’t forget to show us your garden, garage or loft if you have one. We’ll prompt you as you walk us around your property though, so don’t worry too much.

We are also more than happy to simply receive video(s) and / or pictures if you feel comfortable to self-survey following the above – as opposed to a live face-time session, a video will allow us to pause and make sure we haven’t missed anything for your house move in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Chat to us as we go too. We like to get to know our customers during our home surveys and we want you to get to know us too. Ask us any questions you have about our services.

If there are special circumstances which mean you need us to visit your home in person to carry out a free house survey, we can accommodate this and of course follow all of the latest government guidance on social distancing. Our team of professional movers are already working in PPE and we have introduced stringent processes in-house to minimise any risk of spreading the virus.

Get in touch today if you’d like to book a free, no-obligation house survey ahead of your house move.
